2kW Metal Halide Lamps

Two major future developments are in progress for the Active Reactor:
Active Reactor for 2kW metal halide lamps
The majority of applications for high power 1500 watt and 2000
watt metal halide lamps are in sportslighting and large area
floodlighting. A prototype 2kW Active Reactor has been developed
and manufactured and is currently undergoing trials.
The 2kW controller has considerably more features than the standard 150-400W controller. The features are:
1 On board microprocessor for lamp starting and power control
and for external communications.
2 Three modes of operation
a Variable power mode for constant lumen output
b Dimmer mode for high energy savings
c Full power mode for maximum lumen output
Each mode is remotely selected via the device communications port.

The controller electronics is housed in an IP66 aluminium cassette
and is mounted with the control gear in a control gear box or cabinet.

Networking Systems

Active Reactor for Networked Systems
The future requirement for streetlighting, floodlighting and industrial lighting to be connected to a network is imminent and R&D is being directed at the Active Reactor to make it a networked device.
High speed communications with the Active Reactor will enable it to be interrogated for system operating parameter (eg, hours of operation, power consumed, etc) and also to be controlled on demand (eg, ON/OFF times, dimmed, etc)
